Black-billed Mountain-toucan (Original)

The spectacular Black-billed Mountain-toucan occurs in montane forests in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It is usually found in pairs or in small family groups, that forage for food in the forest's canopy, feeding on fruits and insects.

My inspiration for this piece (and the others in this series) is the historical bird illustrators of the 19th Century, particularly Edward Lear, Audubon and Gould.

This original illustration was created with professional, lightfast coloured pencils and acrylic paint on archival pastelmat board.
FInished with an archival matte varnish for protection.

It is hand-signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Note that it will be sent unframed (room the images here are examples only), but will be professionally mounted with a neutral white matboard.
